A Complete Blood Count (CBC) is one of the most common blood tests. It measures red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets to give a snapshot of your overall health.
Doctors order a CBC to screen for infections, anemia, inflammation, clotting problems, and to monitor treatment response.
You may need a CBC if you have unexplained fatigue, fever, bruising, frequent infections, or as part of a routine health check-up.
A small blood sample is drawn from a vein in your arm. The procedure takes only a few minutes.
A trained phlebotomist cleans the skin, inserts a needle, collects blood into a tube, applies pressure, and labels the sample for laboratory analysis.
Your report compares each value to reference ranges. Abnormal counts may indicate infection, anemia, or other conditions that your doctor will interpret alongside your symptoms.
